Dr. Adesina Fagbenro-Byron B.Sc, (Econs). LL.B, B.L, M.Sc, D.Hum., qualified to the Nigerian Bar in 1989. He holds a degree in Economics, a Masters Degree in Information Science and a Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humanities. A Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Information Managers and Member Nigeria Conflict Management Group, Dr. Fagbenro-Byron has over 33 years experience in Legal Practice, Corporate Law, Civil Advocacy, Governance, Public Policy, International Development Consulting, ICT Law, Litigation and Advocacy, and Public Procurement.
He worked variously as Senior Counsel in the Chambers of Dr. Bayo Kuku, Legal Practitioner and Chairman, Nigerian Stock Exchange between 1990-1994. He was involved in the firm’s Commercial law practice department, including litigation, advisory, private corporate investigation and documentation, as well as Oil and Gas related Contracts. He served as Senior Counsel at SPA Ajibade & Co, Legal Practitioners between 1994-1997. While at the firm, he was engaged in Commercial law practice, Commercial Disputes Resolution, including Litigation and preparation of various Commercial Contracts and Documentation.
He currently works as Principal Partner, Sina Fagbenro & Associates, Legal Practitioners, Legal Advisers, Solicitors and Advocates – undertaking Legal advisory services, Review and research for clients including the World Bank to Assessed Legal and Regulatory Framework for Public Procurement for both Lagos and Nigeria as a whole.
Dr. Adesina Fagbenro-Byron has served as Company Secretary and Legal Adviser at Niger Delta Petroleum Resources Ltd – owners of Ogbelle Marginal Oil field. Between 2003-2005 Sina was start-up Consultant to the EFCC helping to design and develop the Operations framework and Financing Document for Euro 26 million for the agency. Served as Governance Adviser at the British Government’s Department for International Development. Chairman of Mothergold Consulting on International Development.
Achievements and Awards: President Law Students Society University of Ibadan 1988; Faculty of Law University of Ibadan distinguished Awardee 2014. University of Ibadan , Award of Honor as Worthy Ambassador of the 70th Anniversary of the University, 2018. Member of the Section on Business Law of the NBA.
